insbesondere solche Einrichtung fuer Skilaeufer“. 1990 wurde ein weiteres
Patent angemeldet: „Steuergeraet fuer einen Gleitschirm“ (insbesondere fuer

Zusammenfassung vom DE Patent 26 19 951 Meine Patente von damals enthalten bereits wesentliche Elemente von 1. modernen Gleitschirmen und 2. von aufblasbaren, fuer Wasser optimalen Kites. In den 70iger Jahren wurden neben dem Skisegeln und Fliegen bereits auch Kitingversuche am Wasser durchgefuehrt: Udo und Dieter Strasilla mit Duesenjaegerbremsschirm oder Windsurfer als lenkbaren Anker und Andrea Kuhn als Erster mit Wasserski, Surfbrett und Snowboard. Siehe Film „Andrea“, der den 1. Preis fuer sportliches Filmen beim Filmfestival von St. Hilaire erhielt. |
Summary of the German Patent 26 19 951: … It should be noted that the invention is not only limited to sailing on snow but it also can be used for sailing on ice or water, be it by skis (snowboards), skates or surfboards, even for rollerblading depending on the terrain. ….The size and shape of the canopy may be varied from case-to-case. The usual commercial or military parachutes, which are disqualified for jumping due to age or structural weakness, may serve as an economical source for canopies and lines, requiring simple modifications for their conversion into the mentioned sail. This invention is not restricted to ski sailing, but it may also be used for ice sailing, sledding as well as for water sports, roller skating or similar sports. Comments made in 2005: “Looking at the parapentes and today’s modern KITESAILS, one will recognize that the essential building blocks were already described in Strasilla’s patents 25 years ago. Those patents describe the essential elements of modern parapentes as well as the inflatable kites, which are best suited for water applications. Already in the Seventies kiting-experiments were done in addition to skisailing and flying. They were performed by Udo and Dieter Strasilla using either jet brake-parachutes, catamarans or a windsurfers as steerable anchor. Andrea Kuhn was the first person to demonstrate the multi-function sail, using it with a snowboard, surfboard and water skis. This fete is demonstrated in the movie “Andrea” by Pierre Beccu, winner of the first prize in the sports film category of the film festival at St. Hilaire. |

Abstract of the US patent: An apparatus is described, particularly suitable for skiers, for propelling a skier by the force of wind. The apparatus includes a parachute-like sail with the shroud lines of the sail connected to a harness worn by the skier. Control lines extend along the sides of the sail towards the harness to provide directional control. The shroud lines are attached to a special holding device between the sail and harness, which device is connected to the harness by a quick release lock.

Im Patent 2933050 wurden bereits 1979 die heutigen luftgefuellten
Hochleistungskites beschrieben. Siehe folgende Auszuege / Zitate: „Wie die in Fig. 1 wiedergegebene Aufbrechung des Segelzeugs ersichtlich macht, handelt es sich bei ihm um einen Huellenkoerper 6, der aus einem moeglichst leichten und luftdichten Werkstoff besteht, der gut zusammenlegbar ist. Er ist zum Aufblasen mit Luft oder auch mit einem Leichtgas bestimmt. ...“. „Die luvseitige Vorderkante des Segelzeugs kann dabei zweckdienlich noch mit einer aufblasbaren Rundwulst 29 ausgestattet sein...“. „Vor allem auch fuer den Wassersport zum mastfreien Segeln hat die Erfindung ein weites Anwendungsgebiet mit allen dabei gebotenen und durch die speziell geschaffenen vielseitigen neuartigen Steuerungsmoeglichkeiten fuer das Segelzeug gewonnenen grossen Vorteilen. Der Segler kann dabei sein Segelzeug leicht loesbar an ein Boot anhaengen oder er kann es auch z. B. auf einem u. U. mit einem Schwert versehenen Wasserbrett stehend entsprechend handhaben und dergleichen mehr.“ |
Today’s air-inflated high performance kites were described in Patent 2933050 already in 1979. It can be inflated by air or by some gas. …” “Along the windward frontal edge of the sail an inflatable tubular form 29 may be attached …” “The invention has a great potential, particularly in water sports involving sailing without a mast, due to its versatile steering capabilities. The sailor may easily attach his/her sail to the boat or he/she may manipulate the sail while standing on a surfboard”.
